National Science Foundation grants Rose State with $125K for computer upgrade

Rose State College said Dec. 23 its cyber security program will receive a $125,000 National Science Foundation grant to upgrade its program with mobile device access and “virtual computers”— a system that creates images of computers on different servers and allows students to work on them from different locations.



Oklahoma City faces budget cuts as sales-tax collections decline

The December distribution of collections, primarily representing local tax receipts from October business, show declines in seven metro area cities when compared to the same month last year. Those cities include Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Midwest City, Moore, Chickasha and Guthrie.

Tenants from Tinker relocate to old GM plant as renovations continue

When the General Motors plant in Oklahoma City unexpectedly closed in February 2006, the facility became a subject of speculation. Those questions were answered in 2008, when Oklahoma County purchased the facility, with taxpayer approval, to lease the old plant to the U.S. Air Force.
