The Oklahoma City assistant city manager positions will be held by Laura Johnson, former finance director, and Dennis Clowers, former Public Works director. Eric Wenger, MAPS 3 Program Manger, will take over Clowers position as head of Public Works.

“These three talented managers are experienced, have integrity and are committed to providing quality services to our residents,” Couch said in a prepared statement. “They’ve earned my confidence as well as the confidence of the mayor and council.”
Johnson has been Oklahoma City's finance director since 2007, and has been involved in the city since 1979. Johnson replaces Cathy O’Connor, who now heads the Economic Development Alliance of Oklahoma City.
Clowers, who was appointed Public Works director in 2005, replaces Jim Thomson, who retired in June.
Wenger will oversee six divisions in addition to his MAPS 3 obligations. The divisions include administration, engineering, storm water quality, traffic management, street maintenance and field services.
