A compilation of metro area sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission for November shows all but one of seven metro-area cities - for the fourth consecutive month - experienced increases in year-over-year comparisons. This month, Oklahoma City received $30,498,716, a 15.49-percent increase when compared to the same month last year, which brought in $26,408,993.

In October, Oklahoma City received a $32,039,183 distribution, and in September, $31,079,411. Both were increases over the same months in 2009.

The November distribution of collections primarily represents local tax receipts from September business. Other cities showing increases when compared to the same month last year include Edmond (3.57 percent), Norman (10.54 percent), Midwest City (5.5 percent), Moore (6.24 percent) and Chickasha (16.03 percent).

Guthrie experienced a 1.2-percent decline, following a 1.69-percent decline in October, a 5.75-percent decline in September, and a 5.28-percent drop in August when compared to the same time last year.
